Dr Joanne Keightley
BSc, DClinPsych, C Psychol
Jo holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and further training in CBT, DBT and EMDR. A highly experienced clinician, she spent more than 22 years delivering psychology services in both community and inpatient NHS settings before moving into the private sector. A senior clinical lead within the NHS, she provided leadership, supervision, staff management and strategic representation for clinical psychology at Trust level. She lectured on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme at Bath University and was the regional liaison tutor for the course.
These days Jo combines private practice alongside her NHS work and offers individual therapy, consultation, training and complex case formulation as well as risk and capacity evaluations. She has extensive expertise in working with people facing the challenge of adjusting to adverse and unexpected life events, living with deteriorative conditions, processing trauma (single event and complex) and grieving complex loss. A fully qualified EMDR therapist, she is particularly interested in PTSD assessment and treatment, post court proceedings.
Integrative in her approach, Jo draws on psychodynamic, CBT, DBT and trauma-based models of therapy to help her clients adjust, accept, process and move forward in a more positive way.
