Adult Psychology and Psychotherapy
The therapeutic relationship is one of collaboration: we work together with our clients to bring about change.
We look to improve symptoms, promote insight into the underlying causes of problems and develop healthy skills to manage difficult emotions. We draw on a range of evidenced-based models in our work with clients, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema Therapy, as well as trauma-informed therapies including Somatic Experiencing and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).
We are driven by evidence based practice, the model used is dependent on individual circumstances and the problem presented. These therapies can be used to help anyone, regardless of ability, culture, race or gender. They can be used on their own or in conjunction with medication depending on the nature and severity of each clients problem.
