Gurjeet is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with 10 years of experience working in the NHS and private sector. As clinical lead for an NHS IAPT service she has managed, supervised and trained staff in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness models - alongside delivering group and individual therapy herself to people experiencing anxiety disorders, depression, chronic pain and sleep difficulties. She has also trained in EMDR, an effective and evidenced-based treatment for trauma.
She is interested in the psychological issues that high performing individuals experience in pressurised environments and has a sophisticated understanding of stress management and perfectionism. She has also been a guest lecturer at various universities and led workshops in corporate settings.
Gurjeet has a special interest in addiction and has published research in this area. She is a committee member on the British Psychological Society Faculty of Addictions. She has also sat on the British Psychological Society Committee, focused on maintaining and improving standards of practice and service delivery within the profession.
Gurjeet is passionate about providing care to those in need, sensitively helping them work through difficult situations, process traumatic events, and develop into better versions of themselves.
